Lululemon Sports Bra Review

Doesn’t it seem like finding the right sports bra is a never ending challenge? I have a few I like from Target and others from Athleta. But, my favorites all seem to come from Lululemon. A sports bra is essential for all women who work out. But, they’re especially important for well-endowed ladies like myself who need the extra support! In today’s post I’m sharing a complete Lululemon sports bra review and guide to the styles I wear for different activities.

Lululemon Sports Bra Review

There was a time when I wasn’t a fan of Lululemon. I know, I know. It was so long ago, I forget now. Yes, they are pricey. Yes, you have to size up. But, they are very well-made and worth every penny. I’ve tossed out many sports bras that stretched out or lost the elastic in the band. Its never happened to any of my Lululemon bras. If you regularly work out, a supportive sports bra is important to absorb sweat, maintain the shape of your breasts, and reduce any back pain you might feel. No matter your shape or size, Lululemon has a sports bra for you. My favorite styles, including the best-selling Energy Bra are below.

My Favorite Lululemon Sports Bras

A couple of things about Lululemon. First, they run small. I know I mentioned that above, but it needs to be emphasized. There is nothing wrong with sizing up! I can wear anywhere from a 4 to an 8 in clothing (28 waist) and I’m a 34D bra size. At Lulu, I always grab an 8 or a 10 to be sure the fit is right. They recently expanded their size range to be more inclusive. Second, nearly all of their sports bras have removable pads. I keep them in, but you could remove them if you prefer. Lastly, when it comes to washing your items, the brand recommends you use the delicate cycle and air dry if you can. Personally, I let them air dry and then throw them in the dryer for about 10-15 minutes. Okay, back to the full product reviews!

Lululemon Energy Bra

Let’s start with the style I wear the most – the Energy Bra. This is my all-time favorite sports bra that I own in 3-4 colors. My workout style includes a lot of high impact classes and running. So, I need to protect the ta-ta’s from too much movement! This medium support sports bra (good for B-D cups) has tons of support and is perfect for any amount of running and jumping you need to do. It’s made of the Luxtreme fabric, so it’s breathable and great for sweat wicking. I have to assume this is the top seller at Lulu, as it’s always stocked in at least a dozen colors and prints.

Available sizes: 2 – 14
Fit: size up 1-2 sizes (I wear an 8)
Designed for: Medium impact workouts, running, jogging
Price: $58

Sports bras for working out

Lululemon Energy Longline Bra

So, this is sort of cheating. But, this longline bra style is the same as the above – it just has a longer band. Technically, you could wear this on its own without a top over it. Basically, it looks like a crop top when you wear high waist leggings (my personal favs are the Aligns). This has all the same details as I mentioned above in terms of support and material. The only difference is there are often less colorway options in this style.

Available sizes: 2 – 14
Fit: size up 1-2 sizes
Designed for: High impact workouts, running, jogging
Price: $58

Lululemon Free to Be Wild Bra

Lululemon Free to Be Wild Bra

Another longtime favorite, the Free to Be Bra is a light support Lululemon sports bra I love. With the open-back and strappy detail, you’ll immediately see this style is a stunner! Honestly, this is great athleisure wear for post-workout too. Anyways, I’ve mostly worn this to hot yoga. But, you could use it for walking or pilates too. This style is very popular at Lulu and has been around for a while. Their website says it’s good for A-B cups, but as a D cup here it still works! There are two similar, but different versions (Free to Be Wild and Free to Be Serene). I have both and would say the fit is nearly identical. This bra style is also made of the Luxtreme fabric which is breathable and has four-way stretch. So, it’s very comfortable.

Available sizes: 2 – 14
Fit: size up 1 size
Designed for: Walking, yoga, pilates
Price: $48-52

Other Lululemon Sports Bras

Lululemon has a pretty wide range of sports bra styles, but the three above are the ones I wear most. If you prefer the highest amount of support, the Enlite Bra Weave (A-E cups) or Run Times Bra (B-G cups) may your best bet. Fit is based on cup sizes and band sizes like a regular bra. Also, both have a hook and eye closure. I haven’t tried either myself though! But, I hear great things. The Enlite Bra Weave is made of the Ultralu fabric which is supposed to mold to your body and is super smooth. Then, the Run Times Bra is made of a sweat-wicking material which has extra Lycra fibers to hold it’s shape.

I hope you liked my Lululemon sports bra review! Leave your questions in the comments below and I’m happy to answer anything on fit and support.
