Fall Fashion Trends I’m Buying for Fall

Each season, top fashion editors compile a handful of trends that make there way onto a must-try list. Normally, there might be one trend that I truly love and embrace. But, this fall I’m sort of loving it all! I’m ready to throw on all the sweater dresses and booties (these are getting added to my cart ASAP!). You can shop all my favorites below.

The Best Fall Fashion Trends this Year

Moody Florals

If the dress I’m wearing is any indication, I’m really into moody florals for fall. They’re romantic and edgy at the same time, but also feminine. Designers like Ulla Johnson tend to turn out some of the best pieces to play to that vibe. I recently grabbed a new top from the brand to wear on our trip to Italy that I styled in this Instagram post.

My dress above and below is by Ba&sh Paris, a brand I’ve mentioned before here. People tend to think of florals for Spring. But, I love a dark, moody floral print for fall too. The floral print top (with puff sleeves, of course) most likely to be purchased by me? This one by Sister Jane, a London-based womenswear brand making vintage-inspired pieces at accessible an price point.

New Neutrals

Fall normally means lots of jewel tones and rich colors. But, this season I see a lot of earthy hues as the new neutrals. One brand that has aced the look is Sea. I have my eye on this top. It will pair perfectly with white or light denim and over the knee boots when I’m up in New Jersey for work.

Perfect Plaids

Another fall fashion trend I’m digging is plaid. Honestly, this is the trend I’m loving most! For me, plaid typically comes in the form of a classic button up. Rails makes my favorites – they’re the softest! But, it seems like everyone’s favorite item from last year, the shacket, is back this year too! Anything with organza is a winner to me too, like this dress.

Luxe Leather

Break out the leather leggings – fall is here! You may see some bold, full head-to-toe looks in luxe leather. But, if that’s a bit much for you, perhaps try this sophisticated leather shirtdress instead. It’s perfect for work or a dinner date and comes in both black and the creamiest shade of cognac.

Fall Fashion Accessories

They say the devil is in the details. So, it’s fitting that it’s possible that more than getting dressed, what I really love are the accessories. There is so much craftsmanship in something like these suede boots. The slouchy detail are the right mix of cool and casual simultaneously.

Of course, every season needs a new “it” bag. This reversible style from YSL may have been my splurge purchase while we were in Italy. If you can believe it, one side is black crocodile and the other is brown suede, making it the easiest justification because it goes with everything! But, textured bags are also incredibly popular right now. Anything with shearling trim will surely turn heads or get you on the best-dressed list.

Lastly, round out your seasonal accessories with these sunglasses from Karen Walker. I have them in black and they instantly elevate any look. The transparent latte color is tre chic!

After months in the sun with shorter hemlines, I’m ready to bundle up and add some layers. Florida may not have the coldest climate, but you better believe I’ll be taking some trips to enjoy some cooler weather for fall. Expect me to don a few of my favorite fall fashion trends and share them with you here!
