Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask Review

Acne. Oily skin. Uneven skin tone. You name it. I’ve had it. Even now, I struggle with hormone-related breakouts along my jawline. But, over the course of 2020, two things truly helped my skin: less makeup and the Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask. First, when I say less makeup I’ll be clear. I mean less days with full glam and more “no makeup” days each week. Giving my skin time to breathe has been a treatment all on it’s own. But, that doesn’t necessarily help with the texture of my skin. That’s where this face mask comes in. With the results I’ve experienced, it’s why I’m dedicating an entire post to sharing a complete Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask review!

While I’ve been diligent in my skincare routine since my early 20’s, one thing I haven’t done regularly is exfoliate. Truth is, I’m not a patient person! So, applying a mask and laying around for 20 minutes can be tough for me. But, let me take a pause here. There are two kinds of exfoliators: physical and chemical. Physical exfoliators are tools like scrubs, brushes or sponges that you massage into your skin to get rid of dead skin cells. There are also chemical exfoliators that use a combination of ingredients like acids to slough off dry skin or help brighten skin. For example, the resurfacing mask I’m highlighting today is a chemical exfoliator.

But, the power of exfoliating goes far beyond just getting rid of dry skin and dead skin cells. Other benefits include preventing acne, unclogging your pores, and evening skin tone (my biggest struggle!). One major highlight of using the Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask? It gives you an instant glow!

Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask Review

My first experience with the Tata Harper brand was actually just this past year when I tested the new, silicone-free Water-lock Moisturizer. You can read my full review on that product in this post. If you’ve been reading for a while, you know I prefer to focus on clean beauty brands and Tata Harper is really a pioneer in natural luxury skincare!

What sets Tata Harper products apart is their unwillingness to compromise when it comes to high-performance ingredients and impactful results. You will be hard-pressed to find other luxury brands offering the same concentration in their formulas that you get from Tata. Not to mention, they’re also PETA-certified cruelty free and have earned their ECOCERT certification. Although they can be pricey, they aren’t skimping on the good stuff packed in the products.

After trying the moisturizer I set my sights on the cult fav – the resurfacing mask. I’ll be the first to admit that the little jar is unassuming. But, WOW – does it pack a punch. Made with beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) from white willow bark and pomegranate enzymes, kaolin white clay, and sodium phytate, this mask is designed to brighten and smooth skin texture! And, the good news is it’s GOOD FOR ALL SKIN TYPES!

Benefits Of Using The Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask

So, what skin benefits can you expect? Let’s take a quick look at some of the main results you may see from regular use of this mask.

Brighten Skin

One of the primary reasons to use this resurfacing mask is that it brightens skin. I am all about that instant glow! Once those dead skin cells are gone, the natural radiance of your skin will come through.

Smooth and Soften Skin Texture

Ultimately, this is the reason I use this mask. Over Christmas I told my SIL and MIL that this mask makes my face feel like a baby’s butt. A funny analogy – sure! But, the baby softness can’t be beat. It’s the pomegranate enzymes at work here, getting your skin smooth and helping with uneven skin tone.

Refine Pores and Reduce Oil

Oily skin is the bane of my existence (thank goodness for setting powder and this mask!). This is where the Kaolin white clay comes in. This gentle clay acts as a cleanser for your pores, absorbing excess oil and removing impurities that lead to acne breakouts. The BHA also help unclog your pores.

Ways To Use The Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask

A mask novice myself, I had no idea there is more than one application for this product. But, it’s true! Tata herself boasts multiple ways to use this product, including:

As a Classic Face Mask

Layer this jelly-like formula on up to 3 times a week for 20 minutes at a time. It goes on clear, almost like you aren’t wearing anything at all. Just use warm water to rinse it off.

Layer with Cleanser

Only have 5 minutes to spare? Known as her “5 minute treatment” Tata suggested layering the regenerating cleanser with the resurfacing mask. Let it sit for 5 minutes and then massage in a circular motion as you take it off with warm water.

Double-layer the Mask

For incredibly oily skin, you can add two layers of this mask to let it work it’s magic. Simply apply one layer and let it dry for 2-3 minutes before applying a generous second layer. This process helps balance your skin and get your oil production in control. Double-layer 3x a week for a month and then reduce to 1-2x a week thereafter.

As a Spot Treatment

As I mentioned earlier, I’m not immune to acne breakouts. Tata recommends dabbing a drop of the mask on your pimple or breakout area and leaving it overnight. The Willow Bark in the formula is a natural salicylic acid that reduces redness and inflammation.

The only other thing that would truly show you the power of this mask would be some stellar before and after photos. Sadly, I only have these after shots! But, I can tell you firsthand that my skin texture has never been better.

Now that I’ve personally seen the benefits of this best-selling Tata Harper mask, the $65 price point does not deter me from re-purchasing. Even with regular use, you should get several months of use from the single jar.
