I favor fitted silhouettes and tailored pieces, but when winter rolls around I love an oversized sweater. I got this Aritzia Montpellier sweater during the Black Friday sales and it must have been such a big seller that it’s now available in two other gorgeous light grey colors!

How to Style an Oversized Sweater
I’m all about texture lately. Whether it’s this looped-stitch merino wool oversized sweater or the new bed sheets we just got from West Elm. A fun fabric composition adds interest to an outfit that might otherwise feel plain. The sweater dress I just wore in my last post also had an interesting material which made it that much more special.
I used to worry that an oversized sweater would make me look bulky and shapeless. That can happen, but sizing up in pieces designed to be big can actually flatter your figure. I bought this Aritzia Montpellier sweater in a small and medium and ended up liking the look of the medium much more. Because of the oversized fit, it almost ends up like a tunic. It has been perfect for work and even better for lounging around the house. Banana Republic has some beautiful textured sweaters that are currently on sale, like this one and this one. I also love this one from JCrew.
To keep the look clean, I paired it with my favorite black legging jeans and leather ASKA Collection booties. I nearly always wear bright gold jewelry so I used my classic JCrew links bracelet (similar here) with my new Baublebar Gamma ring. This ring was back-ordered over the holidays, but I just saw that it was available and scooped it up. At $32, it’s a steal!
I hope you’re all having a nice long weekend!
