It’s no secret that when the seasons change there can be some pretty harsh side effects on our skin. This past month I received and tested two sets of very luxe beauty products compliments of Caudalie and Herbivore Botanicals. You’ve heard me talk about my obsession of Caudalie before here and here, but this is the first time I’ve tried any of the Herbivore products. And, I have to say that after a month of regular use they are all they’re hyped up to be!
Since turning the corner in my mid-thirties in November, I’m continuing to try new things that can keep my skin hydrated and glowing with the end result being a gorgeous, dewy complexion. My skin tends to be more on the sensitive side (and oily), so I’m normally hesitant to try new things. But, this past month I found a handful of BIG winners, like this Phoenix Facial Oil and this anti-aging serum.

All the Beauty Products I Tried in February
From the time we’re little girls, we’re taught to play and experiment with beauty looks. Over time, of course, we find things that work for us – a bold lip, or a cat eye. And, while skincare can be no different, brands have continually evolved the technology and ingredients they use to provide powerful results like reducing fine lines and tightening pores.
While I have products I absolutely adore and religiously come back to, I can’t help but wonder if there’s something new that will produce even better results. So, with that said, this past month I focused on some new goodies from Herbivore Botanicals and Caudalie.
Herbivore Botanicals Review
Herbivore Rose Quartz Facial Roller
How did it possibly take me so long to get on this train!? The only way to describe this is that it feels like a face massage you can give yourself. It reduces puffiness and boosts circulation which in turn helps your products penetrate the skin more. Pro tip – use a facial oil (I used the Precious Oil) before your roller to help it glide over your skin, as it cleanses out the toxins.
Herbivore Rose Quartz Illuminating Body Oil
Put simply… YOU NEED THIS! This body oil is just so darn… sexy. There, I said it. My body glistened and it was completely moisturized. Honestly, I felt like a Victoria’s Secret model with how my legs looked (which is far from what I look like). I’m hooked. Only thing – I was careful not to put on too much and to apply it with enough time to sink in before I put on clothes. I’m not sure this matters, but I figure it’s better to be safe than sorry!
Herbivore Phoenix Facial Oil
As the second facial oil I’ve tried (Caudalie Precious Oil was the first!), I truly love this product. So, it needs to be said that the age old myth that those with oily skin shouldn’t use an oil is wrong… with a few caveats. If you’re like me and have combination or oily skin, you just need to use this once a day or every other day. I use mine at night since you produce less oils then. This oil also felt light, so there was no risk of it clogging up my pores!
Herbivore Coco Rose Coconut Oil Lip Conditioner
Oh how I love this pretty blush colored lip conditioner! Here’s the skinny. This product is not tacky or sticky. It instantly moisturized my lips and I put this on several times a night before bed. With the ups and downs in the weather, it worked really well.
In February I also tried the Prism Exfoliating Glow Potion and Pink Clay Exfoliating Mask. But, I need to use both a bit more before I can give a definitive review and opinion on them. Stay tuned!

Caudalie The Precious Oil
This is one of my holy grail products and if I could bathe in it, I would! I was literally down to the last few drops of my bottle when this arrived. Hallelujah! This oil is worth every penny and will last FOREVER if you’re using it every other day. If you buy one thing from this post, this is it. I can’t say enough good things.

I’ve been using the Caudalie SOS Thirst Quenching Serum for years now and it’s tough to sway me away. But, this formula is specific to anti-aging and it’s quite good. At the same time, it’s pretty pricey. So, I used this every other night or every 3 days. It made my skin feel silky.
Caudalie Premier Cru The Eye Cream
Let me back things up a bit. The Premier Cru line at Caudalie is known for exceptional anti-aging ingredients to help prevent wrinkles. And, for me it works. That’s the number one reason I keep coming back to their brand and these products – they keep my skin looking young. What I love about this eye cream is that it’s got a brightener too so you have a little glow after application.

The anchor of the line is this luxe cream. I only used this on average two times a week because I felt like the Precious Oil gave me enough hydration. But, on those off nights, this was my go-to.
At the end of the day, beauty and skincare are a very personal journey. So often we compare ourselves to others and think, “if I only use this or I only try that, I might look more like this person.” While the products here produced great results for me (and I hope they do the same for you), it’s important to remember that skin types can be unique. Try and find things that work the best for you! And, keep experimenting!
