5 Beauty Products I’m Loving Lately

Night beauty regimen with Nuface Trinity facial toning device and a set of Elemis products from the SkinstoreGrowing up, I remember my mother having her makeup and skincare necessities delivered to the house every month and I always paid attention to how she took care of her skin. It made me appreciate the importance of prioritizing a healthy routine to age, gracefully, of course. Then, when I was 21 she insisted I start using eye cream at night and wear moisturizer underneath my makeup. Now, I’m so thankful she did! (Mom’s are the smartest, aren’t they?!)

In college, I’d buy drugstore brands and I’d make sure to apply them every night. And, while you certainly can’t discredit the value of sleep and healthy eating habits, prevention is key! Fast forward to today. With acne-prone, combination skin, I’ve been wanting to try some new products to further slow the effects of aging. I’ve partnered with the Skinstore to finally try the Nuface Trinity Facial Toning Device and a handful of Elemis products, including the cleansing balm and the anti-wrinkle day cream.

Changing Up My Skincare Routine – Using a Facial Toning Device

So, I set out to test the Nuface Trinity facial toning device. You’ve likely seen this before – it’s a fan FAVE during the holidays. Basically, the device delivers a microcurrent to your skin (don’t worry… it’s FDA-cleared!). Had I not been going to the dermatologist regularly this last year, I’m not sure I would’ve understood what this meant. But, the whole idea is to stimulate your skin to naturally regenerate its cells deep under the surface.

Before using it, I watched the “how to” tutorial online. That gave me a good visual of exactly how to use the device to get the best results. Then, for the next few weeks my regimen was as follows:

Step 1

Apply the Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream under my makeup in the morning (after my serum). I was worried this wouldn’t be hydrating enough for me after my first use. But, I was wrong.

Step 2

At night, wash face with the Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm. OBSESSED with this stuff! I went through my small jar quickly from the gift set and moved on to the bigger jar. My skin feels beyond clean after wiping it off.

Step 3

Prep my face with the Hydrating Leave-On Gel Primer. This gel makes it easy for your Nuface device to glide over your skin in the 3 zones as instructed. Note… I did attempt to use the device after this stuff dried once. Not a smart idea. Don’t make that mistake!

Step 4

Use the Nuface all over my face for around 5 minutes, moving slowly in sections across my jawline, cheeks, around my eyes and on my forehead. Remember, it is a microcurrent. So, you will feel it! I mostly used the device on the highest setting, except on my forehead I had to lower it to a 4.

Step 5

After wiping off the remainder of the gel primer, apply the Pro-Collagen Overnight Matrix cream. This stuff is AWESOME!!! After using this, I’m sure I woke up with firmer skin and less under-eye circles (which wasn’t a result listed in the description). This stuff is worth every penny.

My Results from Using the Nuface

No joke – within a few uses of the Nuface device I could see and feel a difference. My skin felt tighter and it definitely felt more even. I have minimal wrinkles, so my goal in regards to that specifically was more prevention-driven. When it comes to the Elemis products – I’m all in! I’ll definitely be purchasing each of these when I run out.
