NYFW Fall Trends – Feathers and Monochrome

Amanda Champion Blogger A Glam Lifestyle sharing her NYFW Fall Trends

Somewhere on the pages of this site, I’ve mentioned at least once before that going to New York Fashion Week (NYFW) in February is my favorite. For those less familiar with the crazy ways of the fashion world, we’re always looking one season ahead. So, that means we’re seeing the upcoming Fall trends which I, for one, absolutely adore. It’s my favorite season (there’s no such thing as winter in Florida). And, the finishing touches like intricate brocade and shimmering fabrics are a direct nod to my classic, but glam style. This season it was all about feathers. From the backstage of Cinq a Sept to the runways of Oscar de la Renta and Prabal Gurung, it was feather mania. They’re fun and flirty, and apparently I was on trend before I knew it with my blush feather sweater from Cinq a Sept (on SALE!).

NYFW Fall Trends

Feathers

This season at NYFW was not unlike any other for me – lots of monochrome and blush! My outfits (you’ll see the rest over the next two weeks or you can cheat and check out Instagram) included the normal, copious amount of blush tones, animal print and leather touches. Except this time, fashion week’s 2020 Fall/Winter collections seemed particularly suited to me!

For example, take a peek at the images and video from my time backstage with Oribe at the Cinq a Sept presentation. If this collection doesn’t scream Amanda, I honestly don’t know what does!? My sweater fit right in with the feather details on the patent leather coat (below left) and head-to-toe pink monochrome (below right). Funnily enough, after getting caught in the rain while shooting my outfit with Becca, my hair fit in too. The look for Fall/Winter is definitely undone. We’re talking tousled, loose curls and lots and lots of texture.

Monochrome Continues its Reign

As we saw at Cinq a Sept, whether it’s browns or blushes – monochrome is here to stay for Fall/Winter. The huge fan of the styling trick I am, I couldn’t be happier. Don’t know what to wear? Monochrome. Need to appear effortlessly chic for an interview or work event? Monochrome. It simply works for all situations.

My monochrome look at NYFW started with my feather sweater. But, once I saw this blush faux fur coat, it was game over. I knew I’d be wearing an all pink look.

My NYFW Accessories

Running around the streets of New York during fashion week can be challenging. In February, you can never be sure if you’ll be pelted with snow or rain (we got the latter this season). I’ve learned over time to bring a bag that can fit all the essentials. While this little pink top handle bag looks unassuming, I assure you it fit everything I needed. And, at only $39, it didn’t break the bank! Had I seen it before my trip, I might have grabbed this pink feather bag from Loeffler Randal to complete the look!

Then, these white booties (last seen here) hit the streets for a few days and a handful of my NYFW looks. I’ve worn them for six months now and absolutely love them.

I hope you loved this look from my first days at NYFW this season. Next up, I’ll be sharing what I wore to the WWD Style Dimension party Friday night in my next post.
