NYFW – Ella Moss Dress at Pietro Nolita

Ella Moss dress at Pietro Nolita worn by A Glam Lifestyle blogger during NYFW for the velvet dress trend
Going to New York City is one of my favorite pastimes. I started visiting solo when I was 18 or 19 years old, in my Sophomore year of college. The city has always been one of my favorite places, with it’s bright lights and constant hustle. Before going to NYFW this year, I put together a short list of places I wanted to visit while I was in town and Pietro Nolita was near the top. For starters, it’s pink! Plus, there are graffiti hearts everywhere and it makes for the best backdrop. I convinced my blogger bestie, Kristen of The Glamorous Gal, to go shoot there together and we had the best time. With the velvet trend being so hot for Fall, I wore this Ella Moss dress with black sock booties (also super popular) and my go-to moto jacket.

Fall Trend – Velvet Everything

After watching the shows and presentations at NYFW I’m always ready to wear the latest looks right off the runways. In February, the abundance of velvet from each designer collection was overwhelming. But, as the little girl who used to run around in velvet leotards and velvet leggings – I was extatic! When planning my Fall wardrobe I knew I wanted to mix in a handful of velvet pieces, including some blush and burgundy hues again.

In the past, I’ve been a “Bloomie’s girl,” shopping regularly at my local store in Boca Raton. But, with the amount of options that retailers like Shopbop and Nordstrom have online, I haven’t been in the stores that much these days. When I saw an ad for the new 100% exclusive collections at Bloomingdales,  it called for a visit. You should have seen the piles of clothes I brought into my dressing room! It was honestly comical, but everything was SO cute! I immediately grabbed from this velvet Ella Moss dress (it’s burgundy and velvet, so duh), and I also scooped up this off the shoulder top (under $70) and this floral blouse. If I hadn’t cut myself off, I would have also bought this blush velvet top and this shearling cardigan (under $100!).

So – back to Pietro Nolita. When I saw all the pink color tones and edge vibes of the place, I knew my Ella Moss dress was the place to wear it. Kristen and I spent some time walking around in the Soho area afterwards (best shopping in the city IMO) and then went to grab brunch in Greenwich Village between the Dan Liu and Leanne Marshall shows. If you’re in NYC and down in Soho, definitely pop by to check out this place. It’s quickly become one of the most Instagrammable places in the city and I hear the food is delicious too!
