Modern Romance – Blush Tulle Dress

South Florida blogger Amanda from A Glam Lifestyle wears BCBG Avalon blush tulle gown at Viscaya Gardens in MiamiThe romantic whimsy of Valentine’s Day is behind us, but that doesn’t mean you can’t continue to mix ethereal dresses into your look and jump on a trend that I can really get behind – sheer or “naked” dressing. It’s exactly what it sounds like, where there are sheer details, cutouts, and slits that strategically reveal bits and pieces of your skin through the garment. This stunning blush tulle dress from BCBG is a perfect example! It caught my eye over the holidays and then went on sale, so I had to scoop it up. I found it in white here and it would be a perfect look for a bachelorette party or after party for a wedding.

The Romantics – Naked Dressing Trend

This past week designers sent their new collections down the runway in New York City and I was honored to attend nearly a dozen fashion shows to see the lines. Of course, I didn’t make it there easily with the snowstorm that came through on Thursday (cue 7 hours of sitting at the airport in DC…). But, regardless of those travel woes, it was thrilling to see the styles that will continue to dominate our closets and the streets for the next season.

One trend that I was extatic to see is still popular is the idea of romantic dressing – meaning flowy silhouettes, sheer details, ruffles and layers. While it’s true I love my cozy knits and head-to-toe neutral outfits, I also get excited to dress up and get fancy. The “naked” dress sort of burst on the scene by celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Beyonce (flash back to the Met Ball a few years ago). At the time, it was more shocking. But, since then it’s become mainstream. You won’t catch me in pieces quite as daring as what they wore, but the idea of showing a little skin while still being flirty is fun.

That’s where my blush tulle dress comes in (white version here). This tulle dress dress has side and back cutouts but isn’t too revealing in the front (which made it comfortable), but my favorite part was the sheer tulle skirt where you could easily see the ruffles in the fabric. Paired with gorgeous, but muted, accessories like my Miu Miu bag from my wedding and these classic Louboutin Pigalle pumps (less expensive version here – I have them in burgundy velvet) – it was naked dressing at it’s best.

Nordstrom also has some stunning options, like this champagne lace dress and this mauve lace sheath dress.

Have you worn a “naked” dress? I’d love to hear how you styled and what you think of the trend! Comment below and tell me your thoughts.
