Easy Travel Outfits

A Glam Lifestyle blogger shares easy travel outfits like a grey monochrome look including Club Monaco Daylina coat and grey Citizens of Humanity jeansWith all the travel I do, people frequently ask me what I wear to stay comfortable on planes. And, the truth is that I have two go-to travel outfits. The first I’m sharing here is a staple for me – a monochrome look. I used to spend an excessive amount of time figuring out what to wear when traveling and then it dawned on me to have an essential travel uniform. A monochrome look is easy to put together and looks so chic as you’re walking through the airport to get to your gate. I normally stick to white and grey, but a head-to-toe all black look works too. For my trip to Plano week before last, I wore my fave grey jeans (old, these are amazing and under $100!), with a turtleneck and Club Monaco grey coat.

What to Wear When Traveling

Like most people, my number one priority when I travel is comfort. I bring all my travel essentials for each flight, like a neck pillow (I’ve bought three from various airports since I tend to forget them), soft aloe socks, and my iPad for reading. If you haven’t heard of or tried aloe socks you need to get on this train! I wear them all the time in hotels to stay warm and on the plane if it’s a really long flight. A few years ago when my mom and I went to Italy she got them for us and they became a must-have for me in my travel bag.

When it comes to travel outfits, a monochrome look is my one of my staples. Whether I’m planning the itinerary for a work trip and packing for a personal vacation, the last thing I want to do is to have to think about what to wear each time. So, for the last year or so, I simply plan to wear either all grey, white or black. Then, I can pretty much grab whatever cardigan or sweater I packed and use that to cover me up on the flight.

I recently bought this grey cashmere cardigan from Club Monaco and its on super sale now! I got the M/L size since I wanted it to be a bit oversized. It came on our honeymoon with me and I wore it on the flight out to Bora Bora and back from New Zealand. I also love this one from Sole Society. Both would be great toppers since planes can be so cold.

To get the monochrome look, it’s fairly effortless. For this outfit, I knew I wanted to wear my new grey Club Monaco Daylina coat. So, I knew grey would be my main color. I grabbed my grey turtleneck and my grey jeans and I was good to go!
