Best Gift Guide for the Hostess

Seeing everyone’s homes decorated for the holidays always gives me renewed inspiration to add new touches to our townhouse. We just had one of my best friends in town this weekend for his annual Christmas trip and I made sure our tree was up and our home smelled like fresh balsam. It doesn’t feel like Christmas unless it smells like it, amiright!? For this reason, I was encouraged to create a gift guide for the hostess this year! Each of these items, like this monogram cup or this Bose speaker, are things I already own or plan to buy to use when we have friends over for dinner.

Gift Guide for the Hostess

First and foremost, nearly all of us will either be guests this holiday season or host guests in from out of town. If you’re doing the traveling, you can use this gift guide for the hostess to find a present in your price range. Furthermore, if you’re the one doing the hosting then you can use this to spruce up your home a bit and make it extra comfy for those that will be staying with you.

  1. Pottery Barn Beaded Silver Frame – One of the first things I like to put up when a guest visits is a unique picture in a pretty frame of us from a fun event we’ve been to or another trip we’ve taken together. This frame comes in multiple sizes and I love the beaded detail.
  2. Bose Speaker – In my opinion, this speaker is the most practical hostess gift to give. Matt and I keep our portable Bose speaker in the kitchen and love to turn it on when we’re cooking. Plus, it’s great to have on in the background when friends and family are over for dinner.
  3. Capri Blue Candle – This is a candle that I keep in the house all year round. It’s scent is so soothing and the rose gold metallic packaging makes it that much better! Sit this bedside for your guests or burn it in the living room to make the whole area smell wonderful.
  4. Cravings Cookbook by Chrissy Teigen – If you’ve caught her delicious looking dishes on her Instagram or her hilarious Twitter feed, then you know Chrissy Teigen tells it how it is! Her cookbook is a compilation of all her faves that you’ll love too.
  5. Cheers Champagne Flutes – If you’re planning to host a New Year’s Eve celebration, these handblown glasses are so much fun! Firstly, they say “cheers” in four different languages. Secondly, they’re so chic with gold etching!
  6. Monogram Mug – One of my go-to stores for home decor and hosting necessities is Anthropologie. I love the idea of getting these $10 mugs with the initials of your visitors for their coffee or hot cocoa.
  7. Trinket Dish – I just redid my jewelry boxes and reorganized everything. I have a beautiful ring holder but this trinket dish is a great catch-all for items you’ve worn that day or that you’re planning to wear.
  8. West Elm Faux Fur Throw – I’m obsessed with faux fur rugs (I have two in my master bedroom) and I LOVE the idea of having this faux fur throw on our couch for guests to use if they get chilly while watching a movie. It’s a must-have in my Gift Guide for the Hostess! It’s under $100 and amps up your living room decor!
  9. Hello Lovely Cheese Plate – Give me everything white marble, including this gorgeous cheese plate!
  10. Agate Bottle Opener – Can you just imagine these bottle openers as the topper on your holiday table setting? At just $16, they are so luxe they’d double as gifts for anyone who comes for dinner!

Ultimately, traveling and hosting guests over the holidays can be stressful! So, a nice gift or some extra love given to the decor will make the whole experience a lot nicer.
