TAILORED LONG VEST

Topshop long vest and torn jeansThere’s something about a vest that seems so nineties to me. Maybe it’s because I’ve watched too much Saved by the Bell or Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. I just can’t seem to get Will Smith or Jessie Spano out of my head! Regardless, I’d been hunting for a white or blush long vest when I came across this one by Topshop that I just love. Sticking with my favorite trend of wearing neutrals, I knew I wanted a vest that was a little on the longer side and preferably in pink or blush. I found one at Express that was cute, but just a big longer than I wanted. So, the hunt continued.

I feel like I’ve gotten a lot pickier when it comes to buying clothes as I’ve gotten older. I would rather invest in quality pieces that I know I’ll wear over and over, versus finding something cheap that I’ll have to toss more quickly because the seams start unraveling.

I love Topshop for that reason because it’s a nicely made piece for normally under $100. This long vest is the perfect blush color and since I’m short-waisted, I love that it’s cut longer. Cropped vests tend to make me look heavier on top and no woman wants that.

I’m also really loving this new “Holly” long vest by Topshop that comes in blush, olive and black, and this white long vest from H&M. All of them are sleeveless which is perfect for that Summer to Fall transition. In order to maintain the clean lines of the look, I paired mine with a simple white cami and cropped, destroyed jeans. During the winter, I think I’ll pair a light sweater underneath to keep me warm.

I popped on some comfy nude pumps and this awesome druzy necklace by Susan Shaw. It’s currently on a crazy SALE at One Kings Lane. I found mine in a little boutique in Breckenridge earlier this year.

The tailored lines of the blazer are great for the office and make this look easy to take right to cocktails or dinner!
